HONING & SEALING / COATINGS
BLOCKWORK HONING WITH VACUUM DUST EXTRATION.
We carry out light to full hones. This process involves grinding away the first few milimetres of block, to expose the aggregates. A sealing system is then applied, to make the external masonry weathertight. We also carry out specialist internal finishes, where blocks can be densified and polished up to 3000 grit, to give a marble type finish. We have examples of these wall finishes in the Sale Street SHOWROOM.
REPAIRING DAMAGED & DEFECTIVE BLOCKWORK.
If blockwork is damaged during construction, we have a number of special mix designs, that near mimic the original block. This can be more cost effective than removing the complete shell face, and replacing with a new one, which is time consuming, and in some cases impossible, eg. An isolated column 190 mm x 390 mm etc.
RE-JOINTING.
Cut out and re-joint with any specified mortar and joint type eg. STO COATINGS.
Sto coatings have been fully tested for the New Zealand climate, and comply with CCANZ CP 01 2014. Code of Practice for Weathertightness Concrete and Concrete Masonry Construction.
